Learn Italian is located in Levanto, a charming seaside town just one town north of the renowned Cinque Terre. Levanto has a beautiful town center with many shops, supermarkets, and restaurants. As it doesn’t get the number of day-trippers the towns in Cinque Terre receive, Levanto has managed to maintain its Italian authenticity.
In Levanto, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the true essence of Italian lifestyle. You’ll explore the picturesque streets, interact with friendly locals, enjoy an aperitivo (a typical evening pre-meal drink served with a small appetizer) and taste the traditional cuisine, all while practicing and improving your Italian skills.
One of the key advantages of Learn Italian’s location in Levanto is the proximity to the Cinque Terre, making it incredibly convenient for students to access and explore the neighboring towns.
The easiest way to explore the Cinque Terre is by train and the train station is just a short walk from Learn Italian. Monterosso, the northernmost town of the Cinque Terre, is only a 5-minute train ride away (the other villages are only a 5-minute train ride from each other). While the train is the easiest way to get around, the more scenic option is definitely by boat and Levanto provides excellent boat connections, allowing you to explore the Cinque Terre and its rugged coastline from the sea.

As you plan your stay in Levanto, I highly recommend taking the time to visit the Cinque Terre, a collection of five charming fishing villages nestled along the stunning Ligurian coastline. Linked by a convenient train system, the Cinque Terre is a must-see destination that offers a truly unique experience. The train ride itself is an adventure, with tracks hugging the coastline, offering breathtaking views of the sea.
Cinque Terre is made up of five villages – Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Each town has its own personality and even their own dialect! From the colorful houses on the cliffs to the narrow cobblestone streets, every corner has a magic allure.
Go to the beach in Monterosso, have dinner in a restaurant in the piazzetta (the central square) in Vernazza, visit the Corniglia view point, walk around in Manarola, or watch the sunset in Riomaggiore...whatever you do, you won’t regret the experience. Whether you choose to hike along the trails that connect the villages or simply relax by the sea, you will love the experience in the Cinque Terre.
